Construction was complete in 2005 for this new 12-story building housing 1500 IMF employees. Foodservice components on the second level include a 5000 square foot servery and dish room, 5000 square foot kitchen and office complex, a 7700 square foot, 300-seat dining room and a 300 square foot coffee bistro. The first level features a 450 seat meeting and lecture hall and open gallery space supported by a 700 square foot pantry. Another pantry on the third level supports four 100-seat lecture halls plus offices on the fourth level. A 70-seat coffee break room was designed for the twelfth floor.
Staff and guests entering the cafeteria are able to experience a view into a working mini-bakery where rolls, breads and desserts are finished. A 20-foot long softly curved counter to the right of the entry will offer fresh made burgers, pizza and a hot special of the day. The hot special station, equipped with a location to dock a mobile range or a mirror finish griddle, offers a rotating variety of menu items.
A dramatic curved food bar in the center of the serving area features a wide range of salads ingredients, entree salads, fruits, and desserts. For those in a hurry, a variety of prepared foods and bottled drinks, and snacks are available from an 8-foot long wall of "door-less" refrigerators.
